About Us

We’re John and Khadija - and proudly from Knutsford.
We met here, live here, work here, and we simply had to include our town in our
logo. It’s a place that’s given us so much: from childhood memories to daily
moments of joy. Knutsford’s character and charm never fail to inspire us.

Our candle story began around 2020, when John gifted Khadija
a candle-making kit. Khadija has always loved being creative, and we’ve both
always adored a good fragrance - there’s almost always a candle flickering away
in our home, no matter the time of day.

What started as a small hobby making gifts for family and
friends soon grew into something more. Khadija began selling on Etsy, and Blow Candles was born. Friends and family were so intrigued by
the process that she soon began hosting workshops, a chance to share the joy of
candle-making. Which has grown into be apart of the Blow brand today.

After a while, we took a break from our life in England and candle-making to explore
the world together, travelling through Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.
Along the way, we met incredible creators, one, a lovely woman in Arrowtown,
NZ, who had started her own candle business after moving from Grimsby,
reignited something in us.

On the journey home, we made a promise to start again, this
time with a renewed sense of purpose. Khadija now curates a range inspired by
her love of scents like jasmine, ylang ylang, amber, oranges, thyme, rosemary
and berries. John, on the other hand, gravitates towards warm, earthy
fragrances like sandalwood, cedarwood, sweet coffee and vanillas.

Even if we ended up with a room full of candles and no
sales, we’d still be happy - because for us, it’s about creating something
meaningful.

Since then, you might’ve seen us at Altrincham Market, where
we’ve loved connecting with people, hearing your kind words about our branding,
our scents, and the difference you notice in our premium ingredients and
thoughtful packaging.

At the heart of Blow Candles is a simple purpose: to create,
to connect, and to bring a little joy and beauty into your space, one
lovely-smelling candle at a time.
